Contour Ab Belt Review

December 11, 2008

contour-absUpdate: Check the Ab Belt Review page to see how the contour ab belt compares to other ab belts!

What Is The Contour Belt and What Does It Do? The contour belt is an abdominal belt that is used to exercise your abs while you relax. It is designed to be ergonomically fitted to your waist so that it is comfortable to wear. The Contour Belt uses electrical charges that are carried through gel pads to stimulate your abdominal muscles. It runs on 4 AAA batteries, unlike the Flexbelt abdominal belt which has a rechargeable battery pack.
The Contour abdominal belt guarantees you to lose “up to 3” in two weeks. “Up To” could mean little or no fat lost for you. Both the Slendertone and the Flexbelt abdominal toning belts guarantee results you can feel and they don’t leave room for doubt like the Contour belt does. This is backed by a 60-day money back guarantee on both of the higher quality belts while the Contour belts only offers a 30-day guarantee. This shows more confidence in the Flexbelt and Slendertone belts as being better than the Contour.
While the Contour Abdominal Belt claims to show results you can feel after weeks of use, it has actually been shown not to produce the expected results. The FlexBelt and Slendertone belts have had better results and more of the users of these two products have been happy with the effects of the regular use of these belts.

The Contour ab belt stimulates your core ab muscles using the same technology that has been used in the medical industry for years to stimulate muscles that have become weak. Electro Muscle Stimulation, or EMS sends signals to your muscles to make them work. The Contour Belt has been cleared by the FDA for tightening, toning, and strengthening muscles. However, the FDA clearly states that this belt can not produce these results without exercising in addition to its use.
The Contour Belt supposedly removes fat from directly below the surface of the skin on your abdomen, making muscles more visible. Since the Contour Abdominal Belt is supposed to firm muscle, there is no reason to believe you can burn fat just by using the belt. In fact, the whole idea behind The Contour Belt is that it stimulates your muscles to make them flex and contract which leads to stronger, firmer muscles.

For almost the same price as the Contour Abdominal Belt, you can get a much better abdominal belt with the FlexBelt. If you don’t want to spend that much on your ab belt, the Slendertone belt is less expensive while still being a much better belt than the Contour.
Make up your own mind about the Contour Belt and the other abdominal belts. Go to the ab belt reviews and decide for yourself if this abdominal belt is right for you. Compare to the Flexbelt and Slendertone electronic ab belts to see the difference.

My concern is the Contour Belt causing damage to the cell organs under the abdomen muscles? If so, does this raise the chance for any types of abdomen problems or cancer?

We ordered the belt from a tv commercial that said shipping was free if we called in six minutes. We ordered the belt and were charged twenty dollars because we live in Alaska. The ad said nothing about this and they would not reverse the charge so we canceled the order.

MY question is does the contour belt system, or any other one similar to it, have any effect on the heart because of the constant electrical charges it emits?

  14. monica on July 24th, 2009

Saw it on t.v., not to sure about ordering it but did it anyways. I received 2 days later. Not sure if its working but used it twice. You really feel it felt like I did a 1000 crunches with no back pain or sweat just tight pain in abs. its so weird. If you can;t handle pain do not order this belt it has this contraction feeling and from time to time you get this fast pace feeling like hummm like being flicked by a rubberband over and over. hoping it works

  15. Ward on August 28th, 2009

I have used the belt for 2 months or more. The pads are getting a bit less conductive. I read that cleaning them helps, but I am not sure what to clean them with. Any ideas?

  16. Tyler on September 4th, 2009

i have a pot belly will the contour belt burn that fat and give me abs??

  17. Korissa on September 5th, 2009

well I just ordered mine; the commercial says FDA approved; Im going to try it out and if it doesn’t work for me then I am sending it back within the first month; the only thing I am concerned about is that I was supposed to receive a confirmation email regarding my purchase and I haven’t got one yet.

I also believe on the commercial it states that the first payment is 41.95 BUT if you decided to keep the belt then its four payments of 49.99?

    I do believe it will burn fat for you because its gotta go through that in order to get to toning your abs;

who knows maybe I am wrong; lets hope not.

    but the questions about he electric waves damaging the heart and cells under the skin are pressing; if anyone could answer those two questions, that would be great;

  19. Roumauld Boynes on September 15th, 2009

I have ordered a contour belt which have already received and I did damage one of the gels. How can I get another one ?

  20. kathy hudson on September 22nd, 2009

I ordered from the official site—-they charged me for 2 systems. I called back immediately. They said they could not see the order on the system to call back in afternoon. Afternoon call said to call back “tomorrow.” I did so only to have the Customer service telll me they have already billed me and can’t do a thing about it. Wow, poor customer service, wouldn’t you say. Also they have billed me and the product may not even ship for 6 weeks. What’s that all about?

UNETHICAL BUISNESS. Sour in may mouth makes me think I don’t want the damn thing in my home and I wonder if I will ever receive it…….I don’t trust them. Be careful. I don’t know if they are incompetent or unethical.

If owner cares about his name and product, contact me via email.

  26. Anonomous on November 21st, 2009

Is this better than the ab circle pro??????

  27. alberto on November 23rd, 2009

i bought the contour belt. I have used it for about maybe 3 weeks. It appears to have taken off an inch or two. I haven,t used it every day. I am still giving it a chance.I just wish there was a number I COULD CALL TO TALK TO SOMEBODY.
If there is please let me know ASAP. A few people who do not know what I am doing, have asked me if I am losing weight. That alone has given me the want to contiune using the belt. the pain element the belt gives I find somewhat trying. However, after a while the have found the pain less intense.

  28. missindependent on December 8th, 2009

Did this thing work for any of you?or is it just a waste of money and time?
Someone please reply me.I wanna lose some weight but i don’t wanna waste my time and money

  29. Katie on December 10th, 2009

The Contour belt DOES NOT WORK!!! It hurts bad and does mess with your heart. i have a healthy heart and it did it to me..makes you feel on edge and it’s intense especially at higher intensitys trying to receive better results! IT DOES NOT WORK!!! i used it for weeks! didn’t lose a pound or inch off my waist..it’s almost like the beginning contractions of labor..it’s not worth your time or pain…DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE CONTOUR! I RECOMMEND EVERYONE WORKOUT INSTEAD. walk more or get on the treadmill…also they will take money from you even when it’s in the mail on it’s way back to them after they already received the phone call within the trial period to cancel. don’t fall for it

  30. salnas on December 26th, 2009

hey i just ordered mine, has someone seen results with their ab contour?

  31. PoliticalOne on December 26th, 2009

I have tried all sorts of ab product which I did not have to pay for. Stop wasting your money on these products. If you want to imporve you mid section, try the following tips.
    1. Eat small meals and healthy ones.
    2. Stop overeating..
    3. Exercise….You do not need a gym membership for that.
    4. Why pay for expensive or cheap ab equipment when you can perform variations of abdominal exercises that produces tremendous results for free. For example, body builders and non-body builders built tremendous abs just by doing crunches and other exercises for the mid-section long before these ab machines and devices were conceived. I do simple ab workouts and my abs are flat and very well defined.

I spoke with the rudest girl that works there. She was almost abusive as she was persistent. Because she wasn’t getting a sell from me and I wanted to hang up she started insulting me. Until I just had to hang the phone up on her. I ‘m glad to knoow it’s a bad product, before.

i red so many reviews but no one tells me that is it really works or not and how long it takes to make abs out of pot belly, i mean to lose like 4 inches around ur belly.

  35. Mona on January 10th, 2010

I have a rather large butt. Can I strap the Contour belt on backwards so it is on my butt? I have a small waist but a huge butt. I figure if it works on your belly why can’t it work on my big butt. Please advise. Thank you.

The belt uses the technology to regain, strengthen muscles in certain areas of the body. I had knee surgery (torn ACL/LCL/inside and outside meniscus) and afterwards was not able to flex any muscles in my thigh area. Through physical therapy, I was strapped to a similar machine for 15 minutes, 3 times a week. In about 4 weeks, I began to regain muscle in my left thigh. On top of using the machine, I also had to exercise doing certain activities to help strengthen my knee…
This belt is the same thing… sure you can strap it across you midsection and build muscle, but it will NOT BURN FAT! Fat is burned through old fashion exercising and working out and with a proper diet. Even working out your abs will do nothing, because you have all that layer of fat covering it. Also, you cannot ’spot’ reduce fat. Its an all around process, you lose fat everywhere and not just in one area.

Spend the $200 if you want to, but without adding exercise to your routine and a proper diet, you are not going to see any difference. You’ll feel the difference, but nothing will be visible. Good luck.

I got my belt on Saturday! My husband was like, “what did you order now”…… LOL I had one of these about 7 years ago and was not impressed. But I am now!!

Let me tell you!! I put this thing on and WOW, it lite my abs up….. does it work?? ABSOLUTELY!! It has been 7 days since I started using it…. I get up at 6am and put in on before work for 45 minutes and I also use it at night before bed for 45 minutes. I have lost 1 entire inch off of my waste in 7 days. The best part I am still on level 1 – at around level “25″ (people who use the belt will understand this). My husband is a body builder but he has a bad back from being in construction and cannot do situps, and he can use this machine. HE LOVES IT, YOU SHOULD SEE HIS ABS.

No one has paid me to say this, I do not work for the company. But I did see people asking if it really works…. it works!! Everyone should start at level 1, do not start any higher!! I have been working out my entire life and my abs were not prepared for this machine!!

The best part wait till you see what your stomach looks like in 1 week. Thank you whomever invented this OUTSTANDING!!
