The Master Cleanse Diet

If it is your first time to hear the term, master cleanse is a detox diet that was designed to eliminate toxins from the digestive system. Also called as the lemonade diet, it is used by people to promote energy and to increase weight loss as well. The key to the master cleanse is the lemonade, which acts as a laxative and salt water flush.
The concoction is made by mixing about thirty ml or two tablespoons of maple syrup, a pinch of cayenne pepper and the juice of half a lemon or lime in 237 to 473 ml of water, which is around a cup or two. The first stage in a lemonade diet goes for a period of three days and has been designed to get the body used to a diet that is liquid based. People who are going under the master cleanse diet are told to have a complete salt water flush or laxative along with the lemonade every morning. Another laxative should be taken in the evening. In making the salt water flush, mix 10 ml of sea salt, which is around a couple of teaspoons, in 4.2 cups or one liter of water. This should all be taken. The mixture of salt and water is supposed to get all waste out of your body. Take note that people who are taking salt water flush can expect to have up to fifteen bowel movements in a single session.

Once you have gone through the strict regimen of the second stage, you will now complete the third stage, which is also lasts for three days. Basically, it is the same as the first stage except that it is done in reverse. Thus, you should take your orange juice on the first day, the juice of fruits and vegetables on the second day and solid fruits and vegetables on the third day.

The master cleanse diet is not without its flaws and there are some master cleanse side effects that were reported by those who have tried it. Among the common side effects are dizziness, nausea, light-headedness and frequent diarrhea. In addition, there are dieters who reported having a feeling that is similar to the symptoms of cold and flu. Chilling has been reported as well. Other side effects that may be possible when on a master cleanse diet are bad breath, gallstones and white tongue. As with other kinds of diet plans, it is recommended that you consult your doctor before going on a lemonade diet. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a medical condition, it might be advisable to avoid this diet completely.

You should then learn how to distinguish the accurate from the wrong information since incorrect master cleanse dieting could have serious consequences on your health. It may also be possible to misinterpret the diet instructions even though you have a master cleanse book. Mixing the ingredients in wrong proportions is another common mistake.
