HCG Side Effects: What You Should Know

HCG side effects

Any diet program can cause some side effects if your body is even mildly shocked from eating new and different types of food, ingesting fewer calories or beginning a strenuous exercise program. There may be fewer hCG side effects with this diet plan than most others because it’s composed of three phases designed to ease your system into the plan.

If you’ve researched the hCG diet plan at all, you know that its ultimate success depends on the synthetic human gonadotropin hormone. The actual hormone is produced by pregnant women and forms the foundation of a healthy pregnancy. The synthetic version was first offered in injection form, but side effects of pain, bruising and soreness was a deterrent to staying on the plan.

Now, the hCG hormone is offered in oral drops which can be safely and easily used by men and women to help lose unwanted pounds and return both body and mind to a healthy state of being. Thousands who have benefited from the weight loss results achieved by the hCG diet plan have reported that the outcome far surpassed any uncomfortable side effects.

Although hCG side effects are rare, some do occur on occasion if your body reacts negatively to the use of the hCG hormone. Most of these reactions subside within a few days. Some side effects that have been reported include headaches, especially at the beginning of the treatments. This side effect can happen in many diet plans that involve the release of toxins from the body.

Tiredness and mental fatigue can have also been reported as hCG side effects. This can occur when the hCG hormone triggers fat to move to the bloodstream so that it can be circulated and released from the system. This type of hCG diet side effect usually happens during the first part of the plan when the metabolism is adjusting to the change.

Other complaints associated with hCG side effects have included dry skin and leg cramps. It’s easy to understand this side effect – there’s such a small amount of fat being consumed that your body can easily become dehydrated. This complaint can be eradicated by taking supplements or some simple medications prescribed by your doctor.

Some women may worry about hCG side effects in regards to future fertility issues. Unlike other, newer diet plans, the hCG diet has been effective for many years and thousands of women have had successful results – and no side effects that could affect fertility. In fact, the hCG hormone is sometimes used to promote fertility in women.

Because the hCG diet plan includes a phase that is extremely low calorie – 500 calories per day for a certain amount of time – exercise should be monitored carefully. If you begin or continue with an exercise program that your body isn’t accustomed to, you could run the risk of burning more calories than are available and starving yourself.

Again, most hCG side effects have been associated with the injections and not the oral drops, so if you’re concerned about side effects of the plan, consider using the drops. They’ve been proven to be just as effective as the injections.

I am taking the ingections through a qualified doctor. Been on it for 22 days of a 40day program. I noticed when I was going down in weight I would get very dizzy.
Not bad at first, but on day 20 I was slamming into walls and had dry heves. Slight headache and my oxygen levels were low. Breathing was labored. Put on compression soxs and fired up my Sunny (the best at Overstock) foot massage.
Ate a few small crackers for carbs to increase my oxygen levels. It did seem to work. These symtoms are the worse in the morning, probably because I have gone 15 hours without food. I have been correcting the eating by spreading the food out over the day. Still dizzy but not as bad. Stopped the shots until I can identify what, when, where of these symtoms. Called the doctor at the onset, he said I probably had a viral infection. Not! He asked no questions about fever? Sweating? etc. etc. WOW! A big no confidence or trust there. Have lost weight.
A big plus, did not lose my butt, and did not get saggy. Lost my stomach first.
Biggy, lower chol./ trig. and glucose. Good luck and pay attention to what your body is telling you. The foot massage also stops P.A.D. Yes, it works. Good Luck! You now have my good, bad, ugly, and excellent. And the truth!!

I have used hcg injections and lost 30 pounds. The diet is not an easy one to follow but if you want to lose fat. Do it. My husband is type ll diabetic and he used hcg diet along with me and his blood sugar levels have been normal ever since he began the protocol. We haven’t dieted for several months and his blood sugar levels are still with in the normal ranges. I firmly believe in hcg. I prefer the injections to the drops because they go dirrectly into your body and not your digestive tract first.

This is my 4th day on the hcg drops and supplements that are recommended with eating so few calories. I have had a dull headache for the last 2 days and an upset stomach as well. Not sure if it’s the drops or the supplements but I’m thinking this can’t be that good for your system.

My lovely Niece weighs abt 100 pounds and is 5’2″ tall. Not overweight by any means. Are you all aware that KIDS are using this product? ! She is only 13 and because someone teased her abt being fat ( she is not) , she has started to binge and purge along with using your product ! I dont care how “safe” GHC is… If she gets ill because your company made it accessable to a minor, I assure you; there will be Hell To Pay! This is NOT a threat; it is a fact! There should be some type of control and required Drs. visit before using this stuff. How the **** does a 13 yr old even know if she is healthy enough to try this diet? I know, the Lab Monkeys determined it was safe for everyone regardlessof current health conditions, RIGHT… Truth is, it’s about the money; not the consumer or their health and safety. You are fortunate, Im in a good mood today! Thanx………. Pissed Off Uncle of a Bolemic child using this product One more thing, Sue me pig!

Greg, I understand you’re angry and you have every right to be but I think you have to be 18 to take the product, you should be angry at who sold it to her, not the company itself. She could just as easily buy any other diet pill under 18.

I am on the third week of this diet and am doing great. The problems mentioned in earlier posts surprise me as I am having none of those problems. I found that when I was having a headache it was due to no caffiene. The 5-hour shots have the caffiene and don’t affect the diet. There are other little thing as well. Thank you for the opportunity to regain my life and the body weight before having five kids!!!!

So now that i set my weight at a higher poundage than i desired, i seem to be stuck at that weight. how do i break it. I can lose a few pounds but forever go right back up to that set weight. Now what? (and now every time i try to use the hcg drops i fail every time. ) I have tried several diets since and always go right back to that set weight.

I have took HCG Drops over two months now, watch what I eat, work out, etc. 21lbs. lost. YEA! Only thing is during my last monthly cycle I had intense cramping more than usual, cycle stopped & I have continued cramping for three weeks with a low back ache, went to Doc. yesterday it has gotten so bad….he had to give me pain meds. Quit the HCG, scared of it now. Sad but I’m done with it.

My mom did the HCG diet about a year ago. She did the injections. After she stopped she gained all the weight back and more and gained it in weird places. She also lost a lot of hair. We are both thinking about doing the HCG diet again for fast weight loss and to jump start our weight loss journey. I have very thin hair so I am really worried that I will lose my hair. How can this be avoided? And how can we not gain all the weight back?

  30. Ingrid on July 6th, 2013

I had so many doing the drops & all lost quickly but put on just as fast once off the drops. Three of them have now all female issues, which were a known side effect over long term. Not FDA approved, try Belviq instead! FDA approved &works great!

I’ve tried the hcg injections – this diet really does work- However I was under supervision of a physcian- I lost 24lbs in 5 weeks- as for me, I’ve committed myself over the years trying different diets with little or no succes. I would recommend HCG injections weight loss program with the supervision of an physcian to anyone who wants a real jump start to weight loss. As far as side effects’ I experienced slight dizziness during the first 2 wks then the dizziness diminished.
